Windows 95 and 98

Post by Jeff Fuquay »

Some have said that Actual Installer was incompatible with Windows 95 and 98 because I had received an error when I tried to get Actual Installer 4.8 to install onto a Windows 95 or 98 computer.

Not so!

The error occurred when I double-clicked on the "Setup.exe" file on the installation CD.

However, if you FIRST copy "Setup.exe" from the CD to your hard drive, and THEN double-click on the version of "Setup.exe" on your hard drive, things install just fine!

Hope this helps.

The error message appeared while Setup was installing files from CD to computer.

The error message was:

"Error creating directory."
"Access is denied."
"Installation cannot continue."
"Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator."
