Updating path

Hi,
I don't know if this is a user error or a possible bug.
If I use Register-Environment Variables-Path to manipulate
the system's path variable the installer seems to delete and
recreate the corresponding key in the registry. If I look at the
path settings through the "normal" channel (i.e. control panel-
system-advanced-environment variables) everything looks
fine. But if I follow changes by using regedit to view
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment
then I see the attribute of the "Path" registry key change from REG_EXPAND_SZ
to REG_SZ. To get my installed product to work I use control panel
to add a useless folder to the path and the registry key changes back
to REG_EXPAND_SZ. Intended to attach screenshots but bb doesnt
like bmps.
