Commands not executing

Hello, I'm trying the trial version of Actual Installer 5.0, and I'm running into problems getting my defined commands to execute.

I have commands defined (<SystemDir>\cmd.exe with paremeters) to execute before uninstallation, after folder select, and after installation.

I was not seeing the results, as I expected, so I ran the cmd.exe commands without the /c parameter to manually see windows pop open and verify that things were happening. I noticed that the only windows that popped open were for commands associated with "After folder select". None of the "before uninstallation" or "after installation" command windows popped open.

Also, even for the two "after folder select" command windows that did open, it looks like a blank window without the results of the command given as the parameter to <SystemDir>\cmd.exe. i.e. it looks just like the window I would get if I manually ran cmd.exe without any parameters.

When I manually run the same command + parameter from the run dialog (Ctrl+R), I can see the window pop open and the parameter command's results, which is not what I see when the Installer pops open its cmd.exe windows.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro 64bit. All commands are set for "All" architectures.

What could be happening? Please advise.
