Let me preface my question with; I am a complete noob to Actual Installer.

I am creating my first installer for a small application I have created in Visual Studio 2012, which I intend to share with maybe a dozen people.
I have set the .exe file in the Installation/Files and Folders and the installer works. I want to include some additional files like a Readme.txt and some other files,
but on the Additional Files tab the all the buttons at the bottom of the tab; Add Folder..., Add Files..., Edit..., and Remove, are all greyed out.

How do I add these extra files?

This feature is available in the PRO edition of Actual Installer.
You can select 'Convert to PRO' from the Project menu.
