Our package takes about 30 seconds to install.

It would be helpful to show a progress bar during a silent install to keep the user from getting worried.

It turns out that there were a number of files left over in the installation folder that had accumulated over multiple uninstall/install cycles

I had to reboot to delete them and that fixed the launch

No, nothing in the task manager

The application does install properly and will run from the desktop - just no launch from the installer

On the Dialogs/Finish page I have Launch Application set and the File set to <installDir>\myprog.exe

At the end of the installation I get the launch page, but the launch does not happen

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I am not sure I understand - could you expand on that?

I don't want to uninstall the whole package - just want to replace the executable file

The current version of the executable is stored in uninstall.ini When the Updater is run, it will download the newer version of the executable if available but the ini file entry remains unchanged So if the original version is 1.0, and Updater brings down version 1.1, the ini file will still contain...

Now the updater is working - which is a really good feature (thanks again Leo), I was expecting the updater to insert the new version number. In my case going from 3.0.0 in the installed version to 3.0.1 in the updated version. If I run the updater again, its still shows the current version to be 3....

I don't know what was going wrong before, but it does indeed work now

The URL entered in the install package under the Upgrade tab is http://www.windot.com/prog

The text file there is named update.txt
